Dimensional & channel letters
Letters with real thickness, a real edge and a real shadow. CNC-cut or hand-formed, in aluminum, acrylic, PVC or sculpted HDU.
Flat-cut or channel?
A flat-cut letter is solid: routed out of a full sheet on the CNC, and its thickness is the thickness of the material. It doesn't light. This is what goes in lobbies, boardrooms and daytime storefronts.
A channel letter is hollow: a formed return, a back and a face, with room inside for LEDs. It's the only one of the two that can be illuminated.
In everyday use "dimensional" covers both. What matters at quote time is whether the sign has to read at night — everything else follows from that.
Materials, and what they change
Aluminum. The most durable outdoors, paints to any colour code, and the only one we recommend without reservation for an exposed facade. It's also the heaviest, so mounting gets planned.
Acrylic. Very crisp edges, available cast in clear, opaque or tinted. Excellent indoors; outdoors we watch direct south exposure over the long haul.
PVC. Light and economical, ideal for interiors and tight budgets. It moves with temperature, which limits very large letters outdoors.
Sculpted HDU. High-density urethane carves on the CNC in relief, takes paint and vinyl, and never rots. It's what we use when a sign has to look carved from wood.
Mounting — the part people forget
A dimensional letter can sit flush to the wall, stand off on studs to throw a shadow, or share a backer panel that keeps the whole line perfectly aligned.
We supply a full-size drill pattern with every order. That's what lets an install crew put up a straight line of letters on the first try instead of measuring it three times from a ladder.
Frequently asked questions
What letter thickness should I choose?
It depends on reading distance and how much shadow you want. Indoors, 12 mm to 25 mm is almost always enough. On a facade read from the street, go to 50 mm — or switch to channel letters outright to keep the proportions believable.
Can you reproduce our logo exactly?
Yes, from a vector file — AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. From a JPEG or PNG it has to be revectorised first, which we also do; you get a proof to approve before anything is cut.
Can letters be painted to our exact brand colour?
Yes. We spray in-booth to a Pantone code, a RAL code, or a sample you supply. Matte, satin or gloss is chosen independently of the colour.
